  • If you're a parent, you've probably looked at leftover food or milk and thought, what would I do with this?

There's a pamahiin that says when you eat your child's leftover food, you will be at your little one's beck and call. 'Magiging sunod-sunuran daw sa bata," one mom said.

But the majority of moms in the Smart Parenting Village Facebook Group does. They love leftover Cerelac cereal or Cerelac Puffs, Dutch Mill yogurt milk, Yakult, Bear Brand flavored milk, and all kinds of meals and snacks.

Mom Ellen Adarna recently shared on Instagram Stories that she drinks her son's leftover toddler milk. Yes, moms even drink leftover breast milk or formula milk, such as Pediasure. Others also admitted to eating food that had their little one's saliva all over it--yes, even the one their kid had spitted out.

It's not just moms, but dads, too. Parents are willing to finish their child's leftovers for the following reasons.

"Mga biscuits na binuksan pero di inubos dahil sayang lalambot. Sinubukan kong ilagay sa isang container ung mga leftover biscuits kaso choosy so LO 'pag 'di bukas na pack. Mommy Kat

"Yan ang rason kung bakit di na mapigilan ang paglobo ko. Lahat ng tira-tira ng mga anak ko, inuubos ko. Sayang naman kasi itapon, lalo kung naiisip ko yung mga walang makain." Mommy Christine

    Para gayahin ni baby.

What parents can do to avoid eating all the leftovers

The only downside to eating your child's leftovers, according to many moms, is the weight gain. Daddy Erwin has a solution: "Di ako sumasabay ng kain kasi I'm sure na ako rin ang uubos ng tira niyang pagkain, para di madoble ang kain ko."

Another mom suggested to keep the servings small, so there are no leftovers. "Sinanay ko ang mga anak ko na konti-konti lang ang kuha at siguraduhing uubusin nila. Pwede namang humingi 'pag gusto pa nila," Mommy Annalyn said.
