  • Kids don't need a lot of toys to be happy. What they need is you, mom and dad, and your touch. Your hug alone is a plain and easy way to offer touch therapy and its many benefits. There is no person who would not want a bear hug during their off days -- and it's the same for children so do it as often.

    "Hugging is a gesture of affirmation, appreciation, and acknowledgment," says Letitia Ho, Ph.D., a developmental pediatrician. It offer health benefits, too, for newborns, and for new moms.
