Dimples Romana Gifts Daughter 'Her Own Little Home' As Show Of Support To Her Goals"Ate is now officially a young independent woman."by Angela Baylon .
Letting go is probably one of the hardest parts of parenting. But while challenging, it must be rewarding to see your children leave the nest, spread their wings, and go after their own goals. Parents are raising future adults, after all.
Dimples Romana recently marked this milestone with her eldest child Callie Ahmee, who turned 18 last December 2021. The Kapamilya actress took to Instagram to share that her unica hija "is now officially a young independent woman," giving Callie the keys to her "very first personal space."
This is Dimples and her husband Boyet Ahmee's way of showing support to their daughter's "lifelong dream" of becoming a pilot. Based on Dimples' post last December, Callie is currently enrolled in the aviation program of a university in Australia.
"Her own little home that she's going to live in for a few months to practice - sleeping alone, cooking on her own, looking out for herself, cleaning up etc before she actually leaves for [Australia] to live and study there," Dimples explained.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Giving freedom to your child
Dimples knows that she can only guide her children to the right path as a mom but not on a certain path. She says that as parents, the "ultimate gift" they can give to their children is the "freedom to choose her own path in college, as an adult, as a woman."
Now that she's giving Callie the opportunity to develop her own individuality, Dimples cannot help but be excited about what's in store for her daughter's future.
"What a joyous blessing for dad @boyetahmee and I ate to be able to give you this moment... a moment that you can already put into application every virtue and moral value we have taught you since you were a kid.
"Every dream and hope we have encouraged in your heart in the hopes that YOU, YOURSELF will find exactly what it is that will make your heart skip lots of beats and be at your HAPPIEST."CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
Just like any parent, Dimples also found this moment somewhat bittersweet. Although it's never easy to loosen your grip on the child you once held dearly, the mom of two knows it's not what parenting is all about.
"Gusto ko sabihin na dito ka na lang, pick a safer choice, one that will secure you, a good one but not necessarily one that you want, but dad and I will not do that to you," she admits.
She adds, "Only you can account for your happiness."
Now that Dimples has set her daughter off to independence, she says she's willing to patiently wait and endure being away from her daughter "so you can grow and live freely and know how the outside world feels like, discover what beauty and kindness you can offer it."
