  • Angeline Quinto is over the moon as she embraces her new role as a first-time mom to Baby Sylvio. It shows in her most recent vlog update where she also shared about her struggles breastfeeding her newborn.

Over two weeks since giving birth via c-section, the singer-actress gave her fans a glimpse of how she's taking motherhood so far through a Youtube vlog. While being a new mom can be challenging, Angeline seems to be taking the experience in strides.

"Masayang-masaya ako, na-e-enjoy ko 'to. Ewan ko, parang kahit mahirap, nakakapagod parang hindi ko nararamdaman 'yung pagod. Gano'n pala ang nanay noh?" shared the singer-actress.

Angeline, 32, then went on to share her daily routine. Like many new parents who just welcomed their little one, Angeline has also officially become a member of the 'Team Puyat' club.

In the video, she shares that Baby Sylvio wakes up every two to three hours to feed. In the morning, the new mom would give her son a sunbath by opening and letting in sunlight from their bedside window.

Angeline also showed how she's becoming a pro at changing her baby's clothes and diaper. The vlog also showed how her non-showbiz has been helping in taking care of their infant.

    Angeline Faces Breastfeeding Struggles

Angeline's experience as a new mom, however, is not all rainbow and sunshine. She admitted having difficulties breastfeeding that's why they're alternating giving Baby Sylvio breastmilk and formula.

She tells in the vlog, "Nung una nga noong after ko manganak, siguro mga unang araw o pangalawang araw, nahihirapan ako magpadede talaga."

She went on to express her gratitude to the health practitioners at the hospital where she gave birth who guided her in her breastfeeding journey and taught her how to use a breast pump.

Angeline keeps a happy attitude despite her breastfeeding dilemma and having to give up adequate sleep. "Ayun, nakakaantok pero kailangan natin 'to for baby so laban lang natin 'to mga mommies kaya natin 'yan!"

Angeline ends with an encouraging message to her co-new moms: "Dun sa mga katuad ko na first-time mom, medyo maninibago talaga tayo pero nakakatuwa nararanasan natin lahat ito."

How To Increase Breast Milk Supply

Like Angeline, several celebrity moms also share the struggle to produce enough breastmilk for their newborns. In a previous Smart Parenting article, we compiled tips from other celeb moms on how they were able to boost their milk supply.

    1. Latching is the key!

Bianca Gonzales says, "Latch lang nang latch, kasi the more that she latches, 'yun 'yung signal ng katawan mo to keep making more milk."

The mom of two adds, "Ang baby talaga ang pinakamagaling na mag-pump ng milk. Hindi dahil naka-pump ka lang ng two ounces e ibig sabihin yun lang din ang nakukuha ng baby mo sa 'yo," Bianca stressed."

    2. Consistency is the key!

Both Camille Prats and Smart Parenting's Editor-At-Large Rica Peralejo agree that it pays not to miss a milk expression session. "Stick to your schedule, trick your breasts into making more milk because the demand is there," Camille said.

Rica swears by this tip. She says, "When I became consistent with my schedule, the milk supply improved also. It wasn't fast, though! It takes time."

    3. Unlock Support System

Get all the support you need, most importantly from your partner. Dianne Medina says her husband Rodjun Cruz is 100% supporting her in her breastfeeding journey. "Talagang 'yung words of encouragement din niya to support me with this breastfeeding journey," Dianne said.
