Q: I’m still partially breastfeeding my three year old son (at night, before going to sleep, and also early morning). Is it safe to continue breastfeeding my son? Also, if I haven’t weaned yet while I’m in my third trimester, is that okay? What about when the baby is born? Shouldn’t the colostrum go to the baby? Or is it okay if my son still breastfeeds right up to the birth of the baby and beyond?
A: It’s safe if all these conditions apply: -You’ve had no history of miscarriageYou’ve had no history of premature labor or birth
-You’ve had no major contractions or bleeding during breastfeeding
-Your OB Gyne has allowed you to continue sexual intercourse during your pregnancy
To be on the safe side, always consult your doctor.
