  • Since news about Iya Villania's pregnancy with her and her husband Drew Arellano's fourth child broke out on January 3, 2022, the Chika Minute anchor has been giving more details about her condition.

For starters, Iya said in their family vlog, Life with the Arellanos, posted also on January 3, she tried to keep her pregnancy a secret from Drew, with their eldest child Primo as her accomplice.

"We’ve kept the secret for a week now. This boy can keep secrets na," she proudly said of the precocious 5-year-old boy. They were out camping in the mountains with the rest of their family, including the younger ones Leon, 3, and Alana, 1.

Iya admitted having a harder time now compared to her past pregnancies. She pointed out, "This time around nagi-struggle na ako to keep it a secret. Because morning sickness this time around has not been good. Actually, it’s more all-day sickness.

"That’s been the hardest part. The things I used to like, hindi ko na masyadong type. Like I like curry, but right now, that’s not just my thing. Even the juices that I look forward to drinking in the morning and at night, di ko rin type." (Read about Iya's past food aversion here.)

The 35-year-old mom of 3 offered her own explanation: "I guess it gets harder also with age."

When it was time for Primo to spill the beans, he casually told Drew, "Papa, Mama has a baby. But only very, very tiny. It will grow."

Drew replied with mixed surprise and excitement: "Wooh, what an adventure!"

Iya chimed it, "It’s already so hectic with three. Because we want it to be more intense, we’re gonna add to the family."

Drew drew closer to his wife to plant a kiss on her cheek, and quipped: "Ginusto natin ’to!" And they laughed hard.

Iya also shared in their vlog her first ultrasound test, and how she and her family broke the news to her mother. They timed the announcement on the birthday of Iya's mom, who wished to have another girl, just like their third child, Alana, nicknamed Duday.

But the baby on the way's turned out to be a boy! Iya and Drew posted a teaser of the gender reveal on their respective Instagram accounts, with this message: "See you in June, Baby Boy Arellano!"

Back in early 2020, Iya didn't find out the gender of her third pregnancy. Read here why.
