When is the best time to announce your pregnancy
We are taking Yasmien's cue that it's good to keep pregnancy news in your family for awhile before sharing it with the public.
According to a Business Insider article, which was reviewed by Julia Simon, MD, an assistant professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UChicago Medicine, the best time to announce your pregnancy is when it feels right for both parents. It can be as early as after the pregnancy test has been taken, or after the first trimester has passed.
However, if the mother is already 35 years old and up, and is having a high-risk pregnancy, experts advise that they announce when the fetus has already passed 12 weeks. It's also a time when the risk of miscarriage drops, and you'll have a clearer ultrasound picture.
