The Gift of Life is a program of the Perinatal Association of the Philippines (PAP) is a patient program, sponsored by Iron supplement brand Iberet, for expecting couples. Its objective is to provide expectant parents with information on proper maternal and child care. This is also in line with this year's theme of the PAP with is "towards realization of MDGs 4&5” (MDG: Millenium Development Goals on Child Health and Maternal Health).
What do you do during a Gift of Life Class? Doctors invite patients (and their husbands) to a half day Gift of Life Class. Usually, There are about 50 - 100 couples during each class. Doctors and experts discuss such topics as expectations during pregnancy, proper nutrition for a healthy pregnancy, a short lamaze class, fun exercises during pregnancy, baby sign language.
What’s unique in the Gift of Life program? Expectant moms can get to learn “sayuntis,” or “sayaw ng buntis,” led by known Lamaze instructor and childbirth expert Rome Kanapi. The dance involves safe movements the preggy mom can perform to stay in shape while having fun.
How much does the Gift of Life Class cost? The Gift of Life classes are free of charge.
