  • 1. Shampoo your hair every day using a mild formulation, advises Dr. Calingo. “Pregnant women sweat a lot, so attention to personal hygiene is a must,” she says.
    2. Opt for a wash and wear hairstyle. If you have long hair, just pull it back in a ponytail, away from your face and neck, suggests Tony Dusich, professional makeup artist and hairstylist for L’Oréal Techni Art. You may also try Victoria Beckham’s short and asymmetric cut. “It frames the face, so you don’t have to worry about your face looking too big,” he adds.
    3. Avoid hot oil treatments, bleaching, and hair coloring, especially during the first three months of pregnancy, advises Dr. Calingo. “The scalp has plenty of pores which might absorb harmful ingredients from the products used for these treatments,” she explains. Anything with hydrogen peroxide and ammonia is a no-no.
    4. Think twice before you decide on a totally different hairstyle. Experimenting at this time is not a good idea, especially if you tend to be fickle-minded.
