  • Yes. Swimming is in fact one of the best forms of exercise a pregnant woman can do because the water’s buoyancy greatly reduces strain on the joints. Chlorination is meant to disinfect pool water, so it’s even safer to swim in a chlorinated pool than in a non-chlorinated one (as long as the smell isn’t overwhelming). Pool water can’t reach your baby because your cervix has a mucus plug acting as a barrier.
