Andi Eigenmann Shares Photo of What She Looks Like Day 1 After C-SectionAndi Eigenmann also raved about her postpartum binder! Here’s where you can get it.by Rachel Perez .
Barely a week after delivering her second baby girl Lilo via C-section (CS), Andi Eigenmann decided to start sharing body updates as she takes on the journey back to wellness post-pregnancy. She apologized beforehand to people who might not be pleased with the photo.
“This photo was from the fresh 48 at the hospital. Taken after what seems to be the best/longest shower of my life!” Andi wrote. She captured it to “show what I look like one day postpartum.” The new mom of two also decided to share the raw photo to initiate a conversation, particularly about post-CS recovery and fitness routine.
While a back-to-fitness plan after pregnancy is already on her mind, Andi is “not in a hurry” to start it. “As a C- section mom, we shouldn’t need to be in such a hurry to get back into exercising,” she said. “It will be easier to do that once we let ourselves recover completely by getting the rest we need in between caring for baby,” Andi stressed.
“I’m still busy obsessing over my super cute newborn, and also, healing is the first step,” the new mom of two added. Andi said walking and breastfeeding is a “good enough exercise for now.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
“Rest doesn’t mean being completely immobile. Just means we shouldn’t overdo anything,” she clarified. For faster post-CS recovery, moms are actually encouraged to move as much as they can and when they can but without straining themselves.
In the photo Andi shared, she showed her pregnancy pooch, which is typical for any postpartum mama, whether they gave birth vaginally or via CS. It takes about six weeks for the uterus to shrink back to its pre-pregnancy size. (Read why a new mom’s tummy still looks pregnant after giving birth here.)
Andi is also wearing what she called the “comfiest C-section undies” and a postnatal binder by Mamaway, which she and her obstetrician-gynecologist highly recommend. It helps her move around while her CS wound heals. Like Andi, many new moms, irrespective of how they delivered their baby, find that having a good, comfy, and reliable abdominal binder is a must-have after pregnancy.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
The Mamaway binder is easily and fully adjustable with velcro straps (it looks complicated, but it’s just three easy steps!). It supports the uterus, abdomen, pelvis, back, and spine by applying compression to your core, and holds the expanded uterus wall, loose skin, and muscles back in place postpartum. It helps correct the new mom’s posture to help regain core strength and prevent damage to the lower back and spine.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
It also claims to assist in repairing diastasis recti, or the separation of abdominal muscles during pregnancy. The Mamaway binder is Australia-certified medical-grade prescription, which means it’s safe to use from the first day after giving birth as Andi did. It also doubles as a belly band support during pregnancy, so it’s more sulit!
We’re not sure if the “comfiest C-section undies” Andi was referring to were the disposable ones, but that costs Php368 for a pack of four. Mamaway’s Anti-bacterial High-rise Briefs, which moms can use during and after pregnancy (especially as it covers the CS wound), costs Php1,228 for a pack of two. It comes in different colors, too!
The Nano Bamboo Postnatal Recovery and Support Belt, on the other hand, will set you back around Php3,368. The item is currently sold out on its website, but it’s also available on BaobaoBabies.com and on Milkandhoney.ph.
