Danica Sotto and Marc Pingris welcomed their third child, a healthy baby boy named Jean-Luc.
On January 13, Marc earlier shared on his Instagram stories a photo of him outside the labor room. He wrote, "Salamat ama!" He also noted that their baby has the same birthday as LJ Moreno and Jimmy Alapag's fourth child.
The couple officially announced the news of their baby's birth on Instagram on January 15.
Danica shared a heartwarming video of their baby's first moments. She wrote, "All glory, praise and honor to God! Grateful for a smooth and safe delivery. Our hearts our filled with so much joy!!! Still feels so surreal. Can’t believe he’s finally in my arms. Thank you to those who prayed and believed with us."
In the video, their children Mic, 14, and Caela, 10, looked excited to care for their baby brother.
Meanwhile, the dad of three shared photos of him with his son. "LORD, thank you! Gabayan nyo po ako na mapalaki sila ng maayos at gabayan mo ko Lord sa lahat lahat ng bagay na gagawin ko para sa pamilya ko. Salamat at maayos na nanganak si Danica salamat po Ama! Welcome to the world Jean-Luc Pingris! Love you! Thank you sa mga kaibigan at family namin ni danica sa lahat ng mga nag pray!"

Netizens can't help but notice that the baby is indeed a healthy one! One user said, "Heavyweight, mana kay Marc Pingris, basketball player din, congrats."
Indeed, a 9.3 lbs. baby is a big one!
The World Health Organization has established standards for infant and child growth. The average weight of a newborn is around 7 to 7 1/2 pounds (3.2 to 3.4 kg).
However, since Danica had a full-term pregnancy, her newborn is expected to weigh anywhere from 5 lbs. 11 oz. to 8 lbs. 6 oz. (around 2.6 to 3.8 kg).
Low birth weight is less than 5 lbs. 8 oz. (2.5 kg) at full term, and larger than average is a birth weight over 8 lbs. 13 oz. (4.0 kg), according to a report by Very Well Family.
Nevertheless, it is common for babies to lose up to 10 percent of their weight after birth. This is attributed to fluid loss, and it's perfectly fine. They are expected to gain this back in a week.
