Would You Do a Newborn Shoot Right Inside Your Hospital Room? This Mom Did
The most unfiltered newborn shoot you will see today.

Content creator Nika Diwa drew attention online after sharing a candid hospital birth shoot taken right after welcoming her third child with husband Emeka Ihedigbo.
Nika is a Filipina influencer known for her motherhood and family-focused content. She has three daughters: Zion (2), Zuri (5), and newborn Zorah. Her content often leans into pregnancy updates, postpartum reality, and everyday family life, shown in a direct, unfiltered way.
This time, she takes that approach inside the hospital room itself.
A Newborn Shoot, But Make It Raw
The shoot takes place immediately after childbirth. The photos show Nika barefaced with no hair styling, still in her hospital bed recovering, while Emeka sits beside her and their newborn rests in the same space. Nothing is staged or styled. The room is not transformed for a shoot and remains exactly as it is, capturing the raw setting of postpartum recovery in its most honest form.
“This is the version my 80-year-old self will look back on and treasure,” she said.
What makes the shoot stand out is the intention behind it. In her Instagram caption, Nika shares how the idea was to document everything as it naturally unfolds:
“When my photographer walked in she asked, ‘How do you want to shoot this? Any poses? Inspiration?’
And I said - ‘Real life. The mess. The chaos. The way time stops in a hospital room after you’ve waited nine months. Him carrying me so I could carry her. Popsicle pads. Shea butter on my belly. Slow walks to the bathroom. Don’t stage it. Just document it.’
Because this is what love looks like after giving birth.”
That direction sets the tone for the entire set. Instead of turning postpartum into something polished or aesthetic, it becomes a documentation of what is already happening, without interruption.
And that is where the question comes in: would you do a candid hospital birth shoot like this?
No matter how you choose to document your own birth story, styled, candid, or not at all, it always comes down to what feels right for you in that moment.
