To Shave Or Not To Shave: Moms Share What Products They Use To Trim Their Pubic HairA mom asked for recommendations, saying she wants to feel fresh. Here are the mom-approved products, and where to buy them.by Judy Santiago Aladin .
In the Smart Parenting Village, moms and dads can talk just about anything under the sun - including pubes.
A mom recently asked the group of over 80,000 parents for their recommendation on what she can do with her annoying pubic hair.
"Naaalibadbaran na kasi ako minsan. Dati okay naman sa akin na hindi galawin si pubic hair, kaso naiirita na ako pag nasasabit minsan sa garter ng panty, ang sakit eh!"
She emphasized, that she didn't want to use scissors because she got cut the last time she did. She revealed that she is a mom of three, and that's why she can't spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
She added, "Sorry po sa tanong ko. BTW, nasa abroad si hubby, gusto ko lang mag-feeling fresh talaga."ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Pubic hair removal products, according to Smart Parenting Village moms
Of course, the moms at the Smart Parenting Village welcomed this curious question. Below are the products they recommended that curious moms can also add to cart.
1. Rechargeable Hair Removal System
According to a mom, she has been using a handy device like this for four years now and it's good for shaving.
"Rechargeable and hindi masakit sa balat," she said. She added, "Napapalitan yung bala depending on what kind of trim you want, kung sagad na trim or just bawas."

3. Hair removal cream
Another mom recommended using a hair removal cream like Veet or Beauty Formulas. According to the product's instructions, you need to spread the cream in the area using a spatula. Wait for a few minutes, and the hair would come off together with the cream. If your hair is stubborn, leave the cream on for up to 6 minutes then rinse it off.
However, when the anonymous mom asked what it's like when the hair grows back, the mom said, "Makati."

4. Brazilian or sugar waxing
A couple of moms recommend Brazilian wax, although they said it's not for the faint of heart. Based on their experience, it's the first session that would hurt the most, and after that, you will enjoy doing it every month.

To shave or not to shave?
A few moms suggest not shaving off everything but trimming it instead because the pubic hair is there for protection.
A study conducted in 2019 and published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that more women than men remove their pubic hair. Both sexes reported that their reason for hair removal is their sexual experiences and their partner's preference, but only women reported that it is a way to enhance feelings of femininity. It also found that the reasons for not removing pubic hair were related to partners' preferences and side effects.
Whether a woman wants to remove all her body hair or keep it for vanity or health reasons, it's her choice. What's important is that she chooses what's safe and comfortable for her body.
