  • Tattoos are an ancient rite of passage -- used by members of a tribe, clan, and now, modern society -- to tell a story about belief, status, role, and journey. Across different cultures, men and women use body markings to signify their coming of age. For many, it has become a symbol of empowerment to endure the pain and explore their strength as they create remembrances of a meaningful moment in their life, instead of being scarred by it.

These local celebrity moms are no exception. They have chosen tattoos, big and small, to represent their relationships and milestones as women, wives, daughters, sisters, and mothers.

10 Celebrity Moms Who Have Gotten Inked

    1. Angelica Panganiban: Sisterhood and Femininity

Spot the mom-to-be's Lily of the Valley on her right wrist. She got the flower, which "blooms in darkness," on her 31st birthday in 2017. Angelica has two other tattoos from this milestone found on her left wrist and ankle.

She also has a tiny, unassuming dot on her left wrist, which signifies her friendship with fellow actresses Kim Chiu and Bela Padilla. All three of them are reportedly best friends and share this small tattoo.

    2. Marian Rivera: A Proposal To Remember

After her husband, Dingdong Dantes, proposed to her in a butterfly dome in Macau, the butterfly-loving actress had this tattoo done under the back of her neck.

    3. Ellen Adarna: On Self-Love and Serenity

Ellen's tattoos capture her youth in words throughout her body. She is often photographed with the Prayer for Serenity, which is inked across her left rib cage.

During her pre-nup photo shoot with husband Derek Ramsay, she flaunted her back tattoos. Her dad, she says, would call her a "beautiful mess" when she was growing up. She embraced this and had it written in Sanskrit on her back.

Ellen also has the word "freedom" surrounded by birds on her right hip. No doubt it represents her true spirit.

    4. Geneva Cruz: As A Mom and For Her Mom

Among the many tattoos of Geneva (she may have about a dozen, that we know of!), she has a couple that represent her love for family -- her mother as well as her kids. On her right arm are the names of her children, Heaven and London. In Latin, the phrase for "family first" is etched, too. On her left arm is "mama" in script, with a star, for her late mother, whom she credits as instrumental to her life and her career.

    5. Heart Evangelista: Full of Love

Does it even surprise anyone why Heart is covered in, well, hearts? She has one on her left wrist, her ankle, and the right side of the middle of her back. Her calf also has a dainty daisy.

The 2019 inscription of "Love," however, is always worthy of a mention. It pertains to Heart's real name, Love Marie Ongpauco, and it's written in the hand of her husband, Governor Chiz Escudero.

    6. Solenn Heussaff: The Virgin Mother

Faith and religious values play a big part in Solenn's life. She has the Virgin Mary, a rosary, and the Southern Cross to represent her very Catholic upbringing, among other tattoos. Her Virgin Mary tattoo, she shares, is made by the same artist that inks Miley Cyrus!

    7. Sofia Andres: Women In Her Life

Sofia's cute tattoos are for the cute people she has in her life, namely, her daughter Zoe (whose name is on her left wrist) and her mom and sister (with whom she got matching heart tattoos).

    8. Camille Prats: A Mother's Mystery

Camille's tattoos are hidden -- and for good reason: her mom doesn't know about them! Finding out the meanings or actual designs of her tattoos requires some detective work, because she's quite private about them. That's all good because it shows that tattoos aren't always just for public consumption, as Camille chooses to have them for her own appreciation and meanings.

She reportedly has a tiara on the inside of her left ankle to signify her status as a showbiz princess. Recently, she couldn't avoid her mom noticing the one on her ribcage as she flaunted her abs while vacationing in Bohol for her 37th birthday!

    9. Maggie Wilson: For The Love of Connor

The former beauty queen is mom to Connor, whose name is inscribed in ink on one side of her ribcage, while his birthday is inked in Arabic numerals on the other. Maggie also has other tattoos, some of which still bear meaning of her soured marriage with Victor Consunji. Last reported, she had no intentions of covering up these tattoos.

    10. Max Collins: Skye's The Limit

The actress only has a few tattoos, and she makes sure they're truly significant before it's on her body. "My Skye," which is tattood down her ribcage, was inked 12 years after Max's first-ever tattoo at 17 years old. Then, she had her son's birthdate in Roman numerals inked on her back.
