These six types do that job perfectly, and lingerie stories now offer them in different designs and fabrics. So it may be boyish-looking briefs, but if it comes in see-through fabric? It spices things up a bit for those, ahem, special occasions. Check if you have each kind, and if not, it's time to invest one one.

When to wear it: You want zero panty lines.
The fit: The thong should fit your behind to a…T. It should create a smooth line in the back when wearing anything clingy or tight. Despite the fact that it bares your buttocks, you can still get it in different styles, from string to fuller cuts that cover the hips.

    Undies: High leg

When to wear it: If you have fuller thighs, this will make your legs look longer.
The fit: High-leg briefs have a narrower band on the side and a higher cut, exposing more of the hips. Swimsuits with this cut make legs look longer and slender.

    Full briefs

    Undies: Full briefs

When to wear it: You want full-coverage when you’re wearing a pair of pants or a skirt with a high waistline. The fit: This provides more support at the rear. So it doesn’t go to granny panty territory, opt for full briefs with sexy details or in a body-hugging fabric.
