“Let The Kids Be Kids”: Juan Karlos Sends Message to Parents

“It’s nice for parents to support the kids, but what I don’t like seeing is the other way around,” he began.
“Sobrang nakakalungkot para sa ‘kin kapag merong isang eight-year-old. ‘Ba’t ka sumali ng Idol Kids?’ ‘Para po matulungan ang magulang ko.’”
He paused. “Why? Let the kids be kids. The kids deserve to be children. Bago kayo mag-anak, mag-ipon muna kayo,” he added.
Juan Karlos made it clear that his frustration is not with the child but with the difficult situation they are in.
“It’s just sad,” he continued. “Nakakalungkot lang na at eight years old, you’re already thinking about that? Won’t it be nice to just have fun?”
Raised in Cebu by his single mother until she passed away when he was a child, Juan Karlos was then cared for by his grandmother. He understands what it means to grow up with challenges. “I get the hardships of life. I come from that,” he said. “But hopefully that’s something that I want to change.”
Many netizens agreed with his message, while others noted that some children choose to join out of their own willingness to help and support their families.
