Last April 21, Los Angeles-based Alyanna Martinez and her husband Roy Macam welcomed their first baby, daughter Adalynn Riley, to the Christian world. The fashion stylist shared a video and photos of her daughter's milestone on Instagram that showed the couple's families joined them to celebrate the occasion.
It was an intimate and solemn affair with everyone wearing white. But it was Adalynn's beautiful couture christening couture, which came with a matching bonnet and even a car seat canopy, that got our attention. The little girl's gown and reception dress were designed by her ninang, fashion designer Mariane Perez of Atelier Marian Perez. Alyanna shared that it was inspired by "heirloom christening gowns but with a modern take."
The designer dubbed the couture baptismal gown as "The Adalynn Dress." Alyanna described it as "layers of tulle cascading over Duchesse Satin draped to create a stunning waterfall of cuteness." Its bodice is "fully beaded and accented with trailing beaded floral lace. This delicately embellished frock has all the wow of fashion with the softness befitting a little princess," Perez wrote on her Instagram.
The reception dress, on the other hand, is simpler but still very much stylish. It "is the perfect summer party outfit in eyelet over cotton with beaded lace and grosgrain ribbon trim," Alyanna wrote. Adalynn's fashion designer ninang wasn't physically present at the baptism, but she was with her inaanak through her fashion creations.
If you're wondering what a car seat canopy is and what it looks like, here's another one made by Perez for her Adalynn. She described it as "couture sequin princess car seat canopy."
Perez, who does bridal gowns, designs not only baby couture gowns for christenings and birthdays, but she also makes cute, adorable twinning dresses for moms and daughters. One of her clients is Marian Rivera and daughter Zia Dantes.
