These Real Moms Had a Specific Baby Shower Theme in Mind and They Look Fun!

Celebrations surrounding the arrival of a baby these days may involve a bit of production. But when you look at each one carefully, no matter what the baby shower theme is, it is always about spreading the love and joy everyone feels when they hear the news of a baby. And who doesn't like a party that's filled with your favorite people in the world!

So whether you're doing a baby shower in your living room or not, we hope some of these real baby showers inspire you.

Adventure time

Alexa Ilacad threw her sister, Nadine Smith, an Adventure Time-inspired baby shower since both of them are fans of the animated series. When Nadine was pregnant, she would watch this show all the time. In fact, they called Nadine's baby girl “Fluffy Space Princess,” inspired by the Adventure Time character Lumpy Space Princess and now Nadine's husband’s term of endearment for their daughter!

Even family members were asked to wear pink (or white for those who didn’t own anything pink). Alexa also ordered the cutest Adventure Time cake with Princess Bubblegum and Lumpy Space Princess as toppers (and, yes, it tasted a little like bubblegum!)

“It’s also interesting to note that when I was pregnant, I always craved for pink desserts!” Nadine said.

Pink Pastel Paradise

A pink-and-white palette is already an adorable classic motif. But Myrene Fornoles of Festivo Events decided to give it an even luxe feel for the baby shower of Irene and Norman Fallaria.

 

Tropical Flamingo

Joanna Rojas wanted a tropical theme because she felt it would be fun to execute, and it suited the season (it was summer). She also wanted pink details because she was having a girl.

And she got everything she wished for and more with the help of events stylist Gideon Hermosa who made use of greenery, pineapples and life-sized flamingo display on the tables.

The souvenirs, which were customized jams and spreads, were placed in a burlap bag with a pink flamingo design. Even the prizes were all about flamingos – pens, travel kits, towels and notepads that were purchased in stores and online via Shopee. 

Mince it was an afternoon affair, meals that were still in sync with the tropical theme were served as a live grill station, a salad and fruit bar catered by the Grand Hyatt BGC. They also had some food carts like a DIY gin drinks station, soft serve ice cream and sweet potato fries.

Royal Treatment

Beal Asuncion wanted to give his first born a royal treatment, and it was what their friends had to keep in mind when they planned for a blue-and-gold baby shower.

Since the new mom, Jennifer Asuncion, was restricted from eating sweets, their friends led by Phylicia Marie Pineda made a diaper cake instead. They bought all the materials, went on YouTube for a quick tutorial for the base, and then everything else was their own creativity.

For the décor, they picked items from Shopee stores that went with the theme, from star-shaped blue and gold balloons to props and cutouts.

The giveaways, which were custom-made cupcakes with little prince toppers, were care of their friend as all.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Nadine Smith’s second baby shower was organized by her and husband Mike's closest friends. The theme? “Mike and Nadine had a space-themed wedding, and out of their cosmic love, this little star will be born.”

 

According to Nadine, “Back when we had just started dating in early 2013, we had a date at the Mind Museum where we went inside a planetarium to watch a documentary about stars and constellations. Upon hearing the narrator mention the constellation Andromeda, we looked at each other and said AT THE EXACT SAME TIME: 'That’s a nice name for a baby girl!' 

And four years later, they did name their baby girl Andromeda!

The baby shower was held at D’Cup Coffee Republic, which was a restaurant that looked like a library full of books. The styling by Hey Holiday! spearheaded by Alessa San Juan was totally out-of-this-world. She made use of dreamy pastel colors for dessert buffet and backdrop, and of course, incorporated stars in her setup. The balloons by Pops & Decos also made everything look more charming and feminine.

Though she works as a full-time HR advisor, Carol Amistad is a proud hands-on mom to a sweet girl named Zoey and the family's newest bundle of joy, Ethan. She makes sure that her weekends and holidays are well-spent with the hubby and the kids.
