    Gourmet Gypsy Art Café
    The place is quaint and cozy with décor accents such as original salt carriers from Afghanistan and colorful Persian rugs. Chef Waya Araos-Wijangco, owner and executive chef, favors Middle Eastern cuisine with touches of exotic herbs and spices. For Mother’s Day, she has prepared an eclectic mix for the whole family to enjoy. Gourmet Gypsy Art Cafe is located along Roces Avenue, Tomas Morato, Q.C.

    Feeling the samba-vibe going? Go to Naxional where dishes are faithful to the popular South American dishes. They have Elote from Mexico (chargrilled sweet corn, chili butter, mayo lime and crumbled cheese); Patacones from Puerto Rico (choice of carne, cerdo or camarones, fried plantains, sofrito and guacamole); Rabo Encendido from Cuba (slow-cooked beef oxtail, pork hocks, mushrooms and chorizo), among others. For Mother's Day weekend, it is offering its best-selling dessert, Nido Frito for moms. Naxional is located at Uptown Place in Bonifacio Global City. 

    Le Petit Souffle
    Chef Miko Aspiras, multi-awarded and the youngest pastry chef who represented the country in one of the prestigious Madrid Fusion Food Conference in Spain, is the force behind this one-of-a-kind, French-Japanese restaurant. The cuisine is opulent and almost decadent, beautifully plated and richly flavored. Le Petit Souffle is located at SM Mega Fashion Hall.

    This Mother’s Day, Le Petit Souffle is giving moms a slice of this beautiful Basque Burnt Cheesecake as their dessert du jour. 

    Translated as an endearing Italian name for grandmother, Nonna’s is reminiscent of the cozy kitchen in an old country house in Italy. In here, pasta and pizza is made fresh as they are ordered and the ingredients are sourced in the same country as well. Warm, hearty and filing, these are perfect descriptions of the dishes they serve. Bring mom and they’ll hand her a fresh rose. Nonna’s is located at Solenad 3, Santa Rosa, Laguna. 


    All-timefavorite Clam Pie, which must be drizzled with honey for maximum yum factor!

    Truffle Mushroom Ravioli


    Crystal Dragon
    For moms with a penchant for clean, subtle tastes and Cantonese dishes, then Crystal Dragon is the place for you. The place resembles the inner chamber of a Chinese palace. The restaurant is exquisitely decorated, elegant and serene. Crystal Dragon offers two kinds of Mother’s Day menu (see below). Crystal Dragon is located inside City of Dreams, Macapagal Road, Pasay City.

    Six-course Munificent menu:  Specialty appetizer platter of deep fried prawn balls with crab meat, chilled marinated spicy jelly fish, steamed abalone sio mai dumpling; braised seafood treasure with bird’s nest in superior broth; steamed cod fish fillet with cordyceps flower; sautéed fresh scallop with spicy XO sauce and celery; braised efu noodle with shredded pork and vegetables; and double boiled eight treasures with ginseng soup. Good for 2-8 persons at P2,380++/person.


    Eight-course Virtuous menu: Cantonese “Four Seasons” combination platter of roasted duck rolls, deep-fried prawn balls, simmered shredded pork ear with spicy vinegar and marinated chilled smoked pork; home-style steamed tiger grouper with cordyceps flower; roasted U.S. duck in Cantonese style with plum sauce; wok-fried butter prawn with crispy pumpkin; braised abalone with mushroom, bean curd and broccoli; pan-fried egg noodles with seafood and baby cabbage; and a dessert platter of chilled mango puree, red bean snow skin and egg custard bun.  P4,380++/person, good for eight to 10 people.
