100 Things to Do with Your Child This Summer of 2015 (Part 1)

There's only 2 months, and at best 3 months, of summer. Make the most of it by packing you and your child's summer days with fun-filled activities. Go ahead, make some memories!

1. Make a summer journal

Start by making a Summer Journal for each of you, or maybe just one to share. Write down all the places, activities and things you'll be taking up this summer, and add pictures as well. Decorate anyway you want! Here's a suggestion on how to make one.


2. Go on a treasure hunt

6. Go on a picnic

19. Watch Youtube videos together

20. Have a garage sale

Collect all the unused and unwanted stuff lying around the house. Let your child choose which toys she doesn't want anymore. Guide her by pointing out toys which she may be too old for now. Stick on a price tag and start selling! You can even make posters and hand them out to neighbors who have kids, too. Use the earnings to buy a big tub of ice cream as a reward for all the hard work!

21. Go to the cinemas

Make a day special by watching a movie at the cinema. A new movie by DreamWorks entitled "Home", will start showing in cinemas on March 26.


22. Teach your child how to cook

25.  Visit the Exploreum

The Mall of Asia houses Exploreum, an interactive and educational facility for the whole family. It features 118 exhibits ranging from topics like nature, outer space and technology. 26. Visit the Mind Museum

The Mind Museum, in Bonifacio Global City, is a place of learning where science becomes fun, engaging and accessible to all. It's not just for kids but for adults too. And since they're turning 3 this year, they've got loads of activities lined up. Visit their website to learn more.


27. Visit the country's museum for kids

Let's face it, museums can be boring for kids. Good thing there's Museong Pambata, a fun-filled interactive museum where kids can learn from a wide range of topics including Philippine history. Check out their summer schedule.


28.Make a refreshing drink

Cool down with this super easy refreshing drink. Milk teas were all the rage and now you and your child can enjoy them at home. They're much cheaper to make than buy too! Recipe at Yummy.ph.


29. Design your own shirts

Make your own shirt designs using tie-dye, fabric paint or you can even sew patches on them. Be creative! You can even let your child design your shirt and you can do hers! Here's a fun iron-on idea from babble.com.


30. Play pretend

Why not let your child be a restaurant-owner for a day. She can setup her restaurant (the dinner table) with plates and cutlery. She can make the menu; items can include small candies, jam sandwhiches, etc. She can be the waiter and take your order, and be the chef as well and serve you her sandwhich creations.

31. Have fun with googly eyes

Buy a pack of googly eyes and stick them everywhere! And we mean everywhere. Turn a chair into Mr. Stool, some fruits into a family of their own with a Papa Apple, a Mama Pear and some baby berries. The possibilities are endless! Get some here.



32. Teach her some chores

Summer's the perfect chance opportunity to teach your child simple age-appropriate chores like making up her own bed or sweeping the floor in her room. She'll learn some practical skills and might even be useful around the house!
