Christmas time not only brings presents, but we all get treated to wonderful musicals and live shows. There is no better opportunity than this season to introduce the kids to the wonders and joys of the stage. Who knows this may be the start of a yearly holiday family tradition!
1. Hansel and Gretel
Is Hansel and Gretel one of your child’s favorite bedtime stories? Take them to see the classic tale come to life on stage as a children's musical. Follow the siblings’ journey into the woods as they stumble upon a mysterious gingerbread house and try to escape the clutches of the witch who lives in it. The play is adapted from the opera by Engelbert Humperdinck and directed by Joy Virata.

2. A Little Princess
Based on the popular children’s novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Repertory Philippines brings to the stage A Little Princess, a grand musical production for the whole family. Leading the cast are Jillian Ita-as and Maria Gabriela Gil Padilla as Sara Crewe, a young girl who finds magic and wonder in other people and herself despite being mistreated and abused in a boarding school. The play is directed by Dexter Santos.

4. A Christmas Carol
The holidays aren't complete without a Christmas tale. Based on the book by Charles Dickens, the musical follows grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge as he recounts the life he's lived as shown to him by unexpected ghostly Christmas figures. The play is directed by Robbie Guevara, with music from Alan Menken.

5. Wonderful World of Disney on Ice
Disney On Ice is back in the Philippines, and this time stars of the show include Nemo, Elsa and Anna, Rapunzel, Woody, Simba, and more! Expect brand new stories from the bunch, all set on a stage of ice. Kids of all ages and kids-at-heart adults are all welcome. Pssst! Those 12 months old and below don't need tickets!

6. Hi-5 Fairytale
Dance to Hi-5's L.O.V.E. song and many more of your child’s favorite hits at Hi-5 Fairytale, live on stage. Chris and the whole gang will be there. Expect lots of storytelling in only the way Hi-5 can tell them with silly characters like Sir Bucket Head!

7. Hello Kitty Live: Fashion & Friends
One of the world’s well-loved characters, Hello Kitty, comes to Manila bringing along a whole gang of friends. The story follows ambitious young girl Hello Kitty as she takes on challenges to reach her dreams. By her side is her twin sister Mimmy, best friend My Melody and boyfriend Dear Daniel. The stage show is directed by Adam Stafford and features songs by Bruno Mars.

8. Masha and the Bear: Happiness Chest
Masha and the Bear is a Russian animated tv series based on a local folklore about a mischievous but charming little girl named Masha and her bear friend who keeps her safe. Masha and the Bear: Happiness Chest will be a live show musical with the same characters and a fun story told with enthralling special effects.

9. The Nutcracker
Got an aspiring ballerina? Another classic Christmas tale, The Nutcracker will be performed by the young dancers of the Ballet Philippines Dance School. There will only be two shows so don't miss it.
