Many of us grew up loving the feline Sanrio character, and, naturally, all the merchandise that has her iconic face on it. As kids, we liked collecting stationeries, pens, bags, school supplies and anything else we could get our hands on (or as much as our parents were willing to buy for us). At playtime, we imagined sitting down with Hello Kitty, exchanging stories and pleasantries with her over coffee or tea.
Well, our childhood fantasies just came true. Last July, Hello Kitty Cafe held a soft opening for its first stand-alone branch in the Philippines at Uptown Mall in Taguig. We can now bask in the ambience of everything Hello Kitty and get your fill, too -- from salads, pasta, soup, and desserts! Yes, the cafe is not only eye candy -- it offers tasty, French-inspired cuisine as well.
Start your meal with the Soup de Crevette (P265) and Salad Marius (P385), and savor the rich taste of Shrimp Scampi Pasta (P439). Wash it all down with their specialty cold drinks, Matcha Green Tea Frappe (P295) or Strawberry Peanut Butter Frappe (P295). Be sure to leave some room for dessert -- choose from the Chocolate Tart (P279), White Truffle Kirsch (P399), or the bestseller Choco Chip Biskies (P179). Complement your chosen dessert with a hot cuppa like the Hot Pink White Chocolate (P190).
