GUIDE: Philippine Biodome In Manila Is Now Open

What to Expect at the Philippine Biodome

With over 80% of the area being open-air, it's exactly like stepping inside a giant netted dome, surrounded by nature. While some areas are covered for comfort, don't forget to bring an umbrella or raincoat just in case it rains!

Yes, the Biodome is perfect for young children, designed with accessibility in mind. It’s stroller- and wheelchair-friendly, featuring smooth pathways, ramps, and spacious areas. Inside, you'll find a variety of wildlife, plants, and exhibits, including lush tropical trees, orchids, and ferns, many of which are native to the Philippines.

Philippine Biodome Highlights

The Amphitheater Show and Tell is a must-see, offering demonstrations and fun facts about the Biodome's resident creatures and their habitats. And yes, if the keeper invites you, you can even touch or hold an animal!

Another standout attraction is the Crocodile Tunnel Experience. Here, you can walk or crawl through a glass tunnel as a 14-foot saltwater crocodile glides by, giving you an exciting close-up encounter with this ancient predator.

The animal exhibits offer even more excitement. Watch playful Butterfly Koi Fish and Paddle Fish, or enjoy the lively interactions of Budgerigars (parakeets) in their aviary. For bird enthusiasts, the Brahminy Kites will surely impress you with their striking reddish-brown feathers. Don't miss the opportunity to see the Rufous Hornbill, a native Filipino bird, and the colorful Sun Conures in their enclosure.

For a hands-on experience, the Flying Encounter lets you interact with birds, while the Freshwater Gallery offers a peaceful space to observe aquatic life. If you're looking for something thrilling, the Glide Experience, a zipline adventure, will soon let you soar above the Biodome. As you zip across, you'll get a great view of the plants and wildlife below, but stay tuned, as it's not available yet.

Dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights? Now you can experience the magic of the Aurora Borealis through the show Borealis Nights, a spectacle that brings the Arctic skies to life with vibrant lights and mesmerizing sounds. Catch the daily shows from 6:30 to 6:45 PM and 7:30 to 7:45 PM.

Ticket Prices

Standard Admission is P750 per ticket. If you book at least one day in advance, you can get discounted admission for P680. Children who are 2 feet (24 inches) tall or shorter can enter for free, while those above 2 feet need a ticket. 

Tickets can be purchased online through the official website or accredited partners like Klook. Ticket bundles are available for those who want to visit Manila Ocean Park and Aqua Adventure. To skip the queues and check availability, it's best to purchase tickets in advance. Walk-in tickets are also available, but note that re-entry is not allowed once you've entered the park.

Opening Hours

Located at the Manila Ocean Park Complex, behind the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, Manila, the Biodome is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends and public holidays.

The Philippine Biodome may be new, with more features yet to arrive, but there's already so much to explore. Take advantage of the less crowded atmosphere, capture plenty of pictures, enjoy the educational exhibits, and more; it's an adventure you won't want to miss!
