A Guide to Baptism Packages in Metro Manila Parishes / Churches - 2013 Edition

Important note: Due to a decree by the Catholic Archdiocese in 2011, parishes can now only baptize residents within the boundary of the church's assigned area. In some cases, though, the sacrament of baptism is bestowed upon non-parishioners provided that the parents secure a parish permit for baptism from their home parish. Thus, it is important to remember to bring this document with you as applicable.  
 

Terms:

• Parish permit for baptism - an endorsement letter secured from the pastor of the parent's local parish if they wish to have their child baptized in another parish.
• Solo baptism – a private baptism ceremony 
• Communal baptism – a group baptismal rite 
• Home parish - the parish of the decreed area where the parents reside.
• Decree area - the assigned territory given to the parish by the diocese.
