Donny Pangilinan Renovates House Basement (His Family Had No Clue!)

 Donny Pangilinan did a DIY home improvement project during the quarantine! 

The Sunday Noontime Live performer renovated their family home's basement and turned it into his personal "man cave."

The twist? His parents, Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa, were clueless about the renovation until it was finished.

In his latest vlog entry posted December 1, 2020, the young actor-host explained his decision to make their family basement a "quarantine project."

He said, "When our house was built, we built a basement, and that basement was supposed to be a place where we go down, we eat, we chill, we have drinks, listen to music, and all that. But that never happened. Like literally, we never went down."

The Pangilinan home was built on top of a hill, and the basement was located at its foot.

Thinking it was a shame to have that much unused space, Donny decided he would make it his "man cave." It was also a chance to pursue his interest in interior design.

Donny showed fans how he had the renovations done within a week.

On the third day, Donny and two of his companions cleaned up the basement. He envisioned a gym corner and a TV area where he could relax, play games, and watch movies with his friends. Instead of installing a TV set, however, Donny got a projector instead and connected it to his laptop.

By the sixth day, the home improvement was done. Donny then revealed his project to his entire family who were caught by surprise.

The basement is now space to relax and bond, just as they intended it to be.
