Several years ago, rubber thong slippers, now more commonly referred to as “flip-flops,” became a fashion staple among teens, kids, adults, and even babies. These days, flip flops have taken on a cause. The rising demand for organic or natural products has spurred manufacturers to develop them using eco-friendly materials and manufacturing techniques.
Terra Plana brings a modern take on the traditional sandals with Dopies.
Terra Plana Dopie is a line of sandals that moulds to the wearer’s feet and straightens out toes. It has a single shape sole used to protect the foot, which folds up between the toes to provide control. It also comes with an optional strap if you want extra support.
True to the Terra Plana vision, the Dopies are made with the “barefoot” concept in mind, knowing that barefoot is the most natural way for our feet to be.
Terra Plana takes on an eco-friendly stance by using a minimal amount of glue with stitched constructions. If glue is at all required, water-based adhesives are used instead. Dopies are produced in an environmentally sustainable way using recycled EVA and foam rubber. The leather used for their shoes is also prepared using vegetable extracts.
The Terra Plana Dopie line is available in an extensive color range.
