Pang-Pamilya Talaga! Marjorie Barretto Gives A Tour Of Their Rest House In Bulacan

If you need a place to reconnect with nature and your family, Marjorie Barretto's rest house in Calumpit Bulacan is the place to be. From the open-air spaces to the dining areas, take a peek inside this homey rest house, dubbed as the "River Garden."

In a recent vlog, the mom of five says the property holds a special place in her heart since "this where the kids grew up. We have so many memories here." Marjorie says this is where they usually hold family reunions, from vacations to holiday breaks.

Family really takes center stage in the River Garden, with its common areas where family members can gather.

Marjorie showed the pavilion and gazebo at the beginning of the tour, which houses not just one but three dining areas.

Marjorie wanted the space to have Filipino-style elements in it.

True to its name, this rest house boasts a relaxing view of the Angat River. Of course, it has a view deck, which unsurprisingly, according to Marjorie, is her family's favorite spot.

Even the kitchen is an open air space."Very probinsya," as Marjorie would describe it.

The former actress and politician recently had an "ihawan" made for the place, saying her family loves grilled food.

Another common area where family members can gather is the courtyard. Marjorie says, her kids, especially Claudia, used to complain about the area "kasi sobra daw dusty tapos pag umulan, maputik." But now, it has pavers put on the area, giving the place a modern touch as well.

The rest house also has a pool area, which according to Marjorie, was built with the money she won from the game show "Pera o Bayong".

The River Garden has four bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The bedrooms are also named after flowers to match the name of the rest house.

River Garden is a meticulous puzzle, pieced together over the past 20 years using Marjorie's old personal furnitures and hand-me-downs from her mom, Estrella Castelo Barretto.

"My mom has passed on to me a lot of her furniture kasi we share the same passion for home," Marjorie shares. 

Since November 2021, Marjorie has opened the River Garden for private rental and as an events place. Based on their Instagram account, rates start at Php25,000 per night.
