Days after Michelle Madrigal announced, via Instagram, that her divorce from her husband of two years, Troy Woolfolk, has been finalized (read here), the United States-based former actress has moved into her own place.
"It's been a process," Michelle says in her latest vlog, while taking a last look at the house she shared with Troy until a few months after they revealed their separation in August 2021. (Read here how they managed sharing space when they were no longer together.) They're unloading the property, so their only child Anika, 4, will be spending time with her parents in two new houses.
Michelle goes on sharing her thoughts postdivorce: "It’s finally coming to an end, not living in the same house...Nalulungkot din ako, siyempre. I don’t think happy tayo kapag naghihiwalay."
She adds, "We’re getting Anika ready to have two separate homes. But it’s a fresh start."
The now solo parent then opens the doors of her apartment, which she describes as "cute" new place. "It’s tiny but it’s mine, it’s my own space...I’m happy that I’m here. I love the view."
She explains having manifested having a place near the water, in this case the apartment complex's swimming pools. It's not the lake of her dreams, but it’s good enough as it faces the amenities.
She proceeds showing around her unit—living area, bedroom, kitchen—and notes that the best part of having of her own place is doing whatever she wants with it. For instance: "Di naman coffee drinker ang daddy ni Anika, so now I can have my own coffee bar...Coffee is life."
What's more, her daughter Anika approves of their new place, saying "good" when asked about it.
Michelle admits being "nervous" embarking on "this new life, new chapter of my life" with a lot of uncertainties. But she'd rather look at the bright side: "By God’s grace, everything will be all right. I have faith. I just try to keep busy para di ako masyadong mag-isip. Anika and I are gonna be okay."
