These 5 Tiny Bathroom Makeovers Show Clever Space Solutions

Bathrooms are often an afterthought—after all, most condo and apartment bathrooms are usually the smallest rooms in the unit. Homeowners would think: what else can you do to improve it? Safety first, plus top-of-the-line fixtures

Interior designer Nikki Audine not only had to make Mommy Purita's bathroom beautiful, she also had to make it safe for the homeowner. Nikki's primary concern was the slippery tiles, so she replaced these with slip-resistant porcelain tiles from Cerim Italy courtesy of Sanitec. She also added Lavo grab bars in the shower area, and a Yatin L-shaped handle (both from Sanitec) for ease in the toilet area.

Mod, white and bright update

The bathroom of Joan and Romeo Panes's condo unit was nondescript and cramped. After their Ultimate Makeover, however, their bathroom got a retro, mod-1960s revamp with new tiles and bathroom fixtures, and accessories in white with accents of bright orange.

A complete bathroom turnaround

When interior designer Hannah Acab Faustino assessed the Barcos's home, she discovered that their bathroom had outdated toilet fixtures and broken tiles. Hannah did a total overhaul of the bathroom, replacing all the tiles, bathroom fixtures, and fittings, adding new accessories, and washing everything in white and light yellow. The new bathroom now has a clean and fresh look.

Minimal accessories = big impact

Sometimes, you just don't have the budget to do a total bathroom renovation, or perhaps you're just renting and you can't change anything. In this mini-makeover by interior designer Tala Singson, she made this rented bathroom look "put-together' by adding toiletry trays, accessories, a hamper, and a shower curtain in coordinated colors.

From old and dated to modern and sleek

Lola Lolita Keh had lived in this house for decades, but the home was starting to show signs of age. Interior designer Van Acuna-Solana stepped in to work on this Ultimate Makeover, and she fixed up their bathroom, as well. The 1980s finishes were swapped with sleek, gray tiles, and the water closet was replaced with a modern, angular toilet.
