  • If you’re a fan of Korean dramas and films, then you might have heard that there will be a Pinoy remake of the sleeper hit Miracle in Cell No. 7, which is the fifth highest-grossing Korean movie of all time. The teaser trailer of the adaptation, which stars Aga Muhlach, is finally here, and the 2-and-a-half-minute video easily made us emotional.

In the film, Aga plays Joselito, a mentally-challenged father who is wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of a child. The teaser opens with this premise, and his daughter, Yesha (played by child star Xia Vigor) is left in tears as Joselito is arrested and taken to prison.

Joselito introduces himself to his cellmates at “Cell No. 7,” and it’s clear that he becomes friends with them because they help sneak Yesha into prison a few seconds later. The teaser cuts to some funny moments, before showing Tirso Cruz III as the vengeful father of the victim, who wants Joselito to pay for the murder.

We won’t spoil the movie’s plot, but we were pretty much tearing up by the end of the trailer. Seeing Aga trying to convince the jail warden that he wasn’t guilty of the crime was heartbreaking, and his conversation with Yesha at the end was enough to tug at our heartstrings.
