Many kids today will be jumping on the online learning platform for the first time. It's going to be an adjustment, but this teacher shows us it can be done.
Jan Angelique Maravilla, or Coach Lyqa for short, has been using TikTok and YouTube, among others, to reach and connect to her students. The way she explains concepts in Math and English makes it surprisingly easy.

"We saw 'yung Internet as an enemy pagdating sa education na distraction siya," Lyqa said. "These kids are starting to understand that I can use it for more than entertainment lang," she added. The Internet paves the way for her to reach more students online.
Coach Lyqa started teaching after topping the Civil Service Exam in 2013. Then, she made a video for a friend who asked for help with one math problem. It caught the attention of someone in Batanes, who asked for more educational videos. Then, Team Lyqa was born.
Many of Lyqa's students are individuals looking to pass the same test to get a job and improve their lives. But her videos in Math, English, and other concepts are easy enough for kids to understand. Even adults who already have jobs swear that they only finally understood, say, prepositions, after watching Lyqa's videos.

"It's more than a hobby for me; it's a way for me to fulfill my purpose, which is funny kasi I really didn't want to be a teacher," Lyqa reveals. That purpose is giving hope to people who think they aren't good in Math or English.
