Bea Alonzo Shares The Best Lessons She Learned From Mom: ‘Buntot Mo, Hila Mo’

The actress also gives a glimpse of their buhay probinsiya in Zambales.

We’ve heard of celebrities ditching the city life to move to the probinsiya and sharing how they’ve become happier and fulfilled with their decision. Bea Alonzo and her family are one of those who made the choice.

Speaking with SmartParenting.com.ph and other Summit Media editors in an exclusive interview called Sandwich Session, the actress reveals that purchasing a farm in Zambales was one of the best investments she’s made. More so now that there is a global pandemic.

“I’m just very happy na nung 2011, I decided to invest sa Zambales kasi right now, mayroon kaming mapupuntahan na safe, or at least, a little safer than Manila,” she shares.

The 33-year-old actress has already shared a glimpse of the 10-hectare property in her YouTube channel, where her mom, Mary Ann Ranollo, is a frequent guest. She named it Beatifirma which means “the blessed farm” in Italian.

According to Bea, her parents chose to live there permanently since the start of the pandemic. Her brother, who has his own family, chose to build a house there as well.

“Sina Mama, they really developed the land. Mahirap siya at first, sa totoo lang, magastos, but it’s okay now [since] it’s self-sustaining,” Bea explains.

In one of her vlogs, Bea shares that her mom transformed the property, which already has 5,000 mahogany trees, into a mango plantation. According to the actress, 450 mango trees are currently growing around the farm. They also have some farm animals like pigs, goats, and cows.

Bea tells Smart Parenting that she feels more at ease to know that her whole family is living away from the metro.

“Talagang ginagawa nila ‘yung farm to table. And it’s all organic, so I trust na ‘yung health rin ng mama ko, magiging ok,” the actress shares.

Fans of the actress know just how close she is to her mom, . In one of Bea’s vlogs, Mary Ann was very vocal when she was asked questions about her daughter’s previous relationships.

Like any other mom, her only wish is for her daughter to find a good man who will love her truly. “Ang laging advice sa’kin ni mama, dapat humanap ako ng lalaking mas mahal ako kaysa mahal ko, kasi nagtatagal raw,” she tells Smart Parenting.

She also shares three very important lessons that she’s learned from her mother. One is to always live your truth. “Si Mama ganyan ‘yan e, sobrang totoong tao,” she shares.

The other is to take care of your finances. Especially as an actress, Bea was reminded by her mom, “don’t live beyond your means. Kasi pagsisisihan mo ‘yan.”

Last is to own up to your decisions. “May isa siyang laging sinasabi sa’kin — ‘buntot mo, hila mo.’ Ibig sabihin, if you do something, make sure paninindigan mo,” the actress shares.
