'Simpleng Pangarap': Delivery Rider And His Partner Achieve Dream Wedding Thanks To Grab

Just like other couples, Eldridge “Edis” Policarpio and Richelle Favor had to put their wedding plans on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but a delivery company helped finally make their dream come true — as a way of thanking Edis for his years of service.

The couple had planned and saved up to get married back in 2020 as they have a son already and had been together for a decade. But the pandemic hit and their wedding had to be postponed because of the lockdowns and mass gathering restrictions.

On top of that, they had to dip into the money they saved up for the wedding so that their family could get through the lockdown. “Yung naipon namin para sa wedding, naubos. Nagastos. Total lockdown. Hindi [na namin] alam kung paano mag-iistart,” Richelle recalls.

Helping their delivery rider make his dream wedding come true

 

Edis has been a delivery rider for Grab Philippines since 2018. When the company heard of his story, they did not hesitate to give back to one of their loyal and hardworking partners and decided to turn his dream wedding into reality.

They virtually held meetings with the couple to discuss their wedding plans and they took part in organizing and providing for Edis and Richelle's wedding reception. While the couple chose to have a civil wedding[previous|page|next] on September 10, 2021, they were able to hold a beautiful intimate reception at Lucas Studios with the help of Grab on September 26.

What made the day even more special was that Edis's fellow Grab riders delivered wedding essentials for the big day — Flowers by Ginger took care of the decor, wedding cake was courtesy of Celebration Cakes by Mary Grace, wine was by Ram’s House of Wine and their food was care of TGIFridays and Scout's Honor. They even got wedding favors from The Honest Market, Dean & DeLuca, and Wildflour Pantry.

Edis and Richelle's wedding became such a memorable day and Richelle could not believe their luck. “Kaya din pala ni Grab ibigay ang mga simpleng pangarap ng isang taong kagaya namin. September 26, Sunday... memorable talaga ito sa akin sobra,” she shares.
