How This Filipino Cleaner Became A Restaurant Owner In Australia 'Hindi Ako Naging Choosy'

  • John Andrew Dangca is a 27-year-old Caviteño who is currently living in Canberra, Australia. When his father passed away, his mom had to go abroad to support the family financially.

    His mom came home after three years, which led him and his sister to stop studying and work instead. He worked as a crew for a fast food chain for a while, until he decided to take a vocational course so he can go to Australia.

    "Pinag-aral po ako ng tita ko para po makapunta dito sa Australia," he said. His aunt sponsored him after he finished his vocational course—and the rest, as they say, is history.

    He worked all sorts of jobs so he can support himself while he's in Australia, while at the same time, send money to his family in the Philippines.

    "Hindi na lang po ako naging choosy. Kung ano na lang po 'yung pumasok sa aking trabaho, iga-grab ko po talaga 'yun," he said. "Kahit alam ko pong nakakapagod, sige lang po."
