In a report by Manila Bulletin, the "Mister Donut on Wheels" was initially used as a "complementary to a franchisee's physical store" and that during the pandemic, it was a convenient way to get their products to those who have limited mobility. Now that they have opened it for franchising, this is their way of reaching out to provincial areas that don't have a Mister Donut, specifically in Zambales, Ilocos Sur, Aurora, Quezon, Cebu, Leyte, and Zamboanga.
How much would it take to franchise a Mister Donut on Wheels?
This will cost Php650,000, which includes the discounted franchise fee of Php54,000 that accounts for the signage, murals, equipment, permits, and other documentation. It is also required that the franchisee acquire a second-hand multi-cab or an L300 van, which is separate from the franchise cost.
Cherry B. Carino, Franchise Management Head at Mister Donut, says that the multi-cab or L300 van type of the Mister Donut Wheels have an average gross daily sales of Php8,700, which can be doubled during special occasions, like Valentine's Day. Carino says that "with cost-efficient labor and no lease-related expenses, return on investment is projected at 1.5 years or earlier.
For those who are interested in franchising but are currently outside of Zambales, Ilocos Sur, Aurora Quezon, Cebu, Leyte, and Zamboanga, the routes will have to be approved first by Mister Donut management.
