  • Single moms Andi Eigenmann and Kris Aquino have had a history of public feuds with their exes, especially when it concerns their children. In early 2017, Andi was at odds with Jake Ejercito after he filed a petition for joint custody of their daughter, Ellie. Kris, meanwhile, had recently accused James Yap for pretending to care about their son, Bimb, when he has not actually seen his son in a long time.

But last Sunday, Father’s Day, the two moms surprisingly spoke of their exes in a positive light, showing that they are ready to forgive and move on.

On her Instagram story last Sunday, Andi shared an adorable photo of Jake and Ellie, and wrote: “Thanks for being such an awesome dad to Ellie! Happy Father’s Day.” She added that it was a “super cute picture” that she couldn’t help but share.

It’s a far cry from the woman who once posted emotional rants on her now-deactivated Twitter account about Jake’s joint custody petition. Currently, Andi and Jake are now in very good terms. In August 2017, the former couple agreed on having shared custody of their daughter.

“It is something that I want and agreed on because I think that’s the best for my daughter. I want her to feel complete as a human and having her father there beside her is part of it,” she said in a statement with ABS-CBN News. “Kahit ano pa ‘yung misunderstanding naming [with Jake], kahit na ‘di kami nagkakasundo or kung ano man ‘yan, when it comes to Ellie, alam kong mahal na mahal niya ang anak namin.”

Meanwhile Kris took to her Facebook Live video to reach out to Bimb’s father, during a candid conversation with her son who asked: “When were you most proud of me?”

The mom of two reveals that she asked Bimb to make a Father’s Day video for James, as she was inspired by a line in her upcoming movie with Star Cinema. “There was a message there about forgiveness—[forgiving] not because you were doing it for another person but you’re doing it for yourself because it’s a gift. Ultimately, mabigat mabuhay ng may bitbit kang sama ng loob.

Kris said that she knew her son only did the video because he felt that his mom wanted peace, “But I also saw how much you [Bimb] couldn’t handle it after,” she adds. “And that was my proudest moment because you tried.”

Kris goes on to say that at that moment, she realized that Bimb wasn’t ready to mend his relationship with his father, but she also reminded her son that when the time comes that he is ready, Kris will be there to support him.

“Please don’t ever feel na si Mama ang nag-pe-prevent sayo. [Or] that it’s out of loyalty for me, because your Mama is ready. I’m okay.” Kris tells Bimb.

“I had to do a lot of reckoning and I had to realize that you’re lucky you have a dad who’s alive,” she adds.

Now, that Kris has signaled that she and Bimb are open for reconciliation, the ball is in James’ court. “It’s up to him now. And I hope that he will reach out,” Kris said.
