"On February 2, 2025, my angel returned to heaven. First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the many people who have expressed their condolences."

He continued, "Right now, I am going through a time of indescribable grief and pain that feels like my intestines are being ripped out. I don't have the strength to say anything, nor do I want to, but even before we have had the chance to properly mourn this great loss, malicious individuals have begun to spread false rumors to hurt my family and my love."

Koo addressed rumors about Hsu's insurance, expressing his dismay. "It's scary to think that these bad people really do exist in the world. Please, please, please can't you just leave our Hee Won alone so that she can rest in peace, I'm begging you."

He also spoke about concerns regarding his wife’s inheritance, stating that he would leave the decision to Hsu's mother. "As for the precious inheritance that Hee-won left behind, all of which she shed her blood to protect her family while she was alive so I'm going to give all of her authority to my mother-in-law."

Regarding the future of Hsu's children, who are ages 10 and 8, Koo assured that he would take legal measures to protect them. "As for the children's authority, I'm going to take legal action through a lawyer to make sure that bad people don't touch them and that they are protected until they become adults," he said.

In an Instagram story, Koo clarified further, emphasizing that Hsu's assets should be handled properly. "Regarding the children’s rightful inheritance, I hope that under legal supervision, their rights will be properly safeguarded."  

Koo and Hsu first dated in 1998, and their relationship lasted for only a year. They rekindled their romance 22 years later, when Koo learned about Hsu's divorce. The couple married on February 8, 2022, just three months after Hsu's separation from her ex-husband, Wang Xiao Fei, with whom she had two children.
