Cassy and Mavy are turning 16 years old on January 6, but their big celebration happened last January 3. The venue: the family's favorite beach house in Nasugbu, Batangas. Based on Instagram photos shared by Zoren and Carmina (above), the twins and their friends had a swimming party during the day and at night, the vibe was "coachella" based on the setup that includes a wooden wheel with the twins' names. FDA: Stop dengue vaccine ads
Sanofi Philippines, the manufacturer of the first dengue vaccine, Dengvaxia, has been ordered to halt the airing of its dengue vaccine advertisements by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). Inquirer reports the FDA said Sanofi’s television and radio ads violated certain regulations in the promotion of prescription drugs. Sanofi says, however, their ads were in compliance with FDA standards.

Ogie Alcasid's daughter returns home with a mission!
Leila, the daughter of Ogie Alcasid and Michelle van Eimeren, will arrive in the Philippines and will live with her dad and stepmom Regine Velasquez. The 19-year-old made the announcement on her blog, writing, "While I'll miss my beautiful mother, stepfather and sister back home, comfort lies in the fact that traveling is our thing; i.e. I know they'll visit soon enough and join me in relishing in the greatness of the Philippines." Her stepmom posted a photo of Leila on Instagram with the caption, "I'm excited to have you here sweetheart..." Pep.ph reports that fans of Regine and Ogie hope she will join showbiz. But, in another blog entry, Leila reveals what's on top of her mind: to volunteer for UNICEF Philippines. "In the country that is near and dear to my heart, I feel that I cannot live in and reap the benefits of such a wonderful culture without doing what I can to ensure the prosperity of its future."

Establishments should put signages of PWD benefits
Under Republic Act (RA) 10754, all establishments subject to VAT are required to place signages of the privileges and benefits within their premises for the information of persons with disabilities (PWDs), Manila Bulletin reports. The law grants PWDs with VAT exemption and 20 percent discount. The law also declares that subsequent purchases made by the PWDs on the same day from the same establishment are still subject to VAT-exemption and 20 percent discount. (If you are a senior citizen and a PWD, you can only apply for 20 percent discount with one ID.) To avail of the benefits, you need to present your PWD ID.
