Celebrities Mourn Isabel Granada's Passing

Several news agencies reported Saturday, November 4, near midnight that actress and singer Isabel Granada passed away in Doha, Qatar. In the early hours of today, November 5, Isabel's second husband, Arnel Cowley, confirmed the news on Facebook.
"It is with great sadness that my wife Isabel Granada has peacefully passed here in Doha. Qatar. She has been a fantastic wife, mother, and daughter. She always did her best in everything she did, whether it be in front of a camera or sports," Arnel wrote on Facebook through Isabel's cousin, Jopseh Rivera. He also thanked the Filipino community in Doha for their support."Baby, wherever you might be, just always remember that I LOVE YOU. and I miss you very much," Arnel wrote.
He and Isabel went to Doha, Qatar to speak at a trade event when she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital on October 24. Arnel revealed his wife suffered from brain hemorrhage, which suggested an aneurysm, and subsequently a cardiac arrest.

Isabel's ex-husband, Jericho Aguas, with whom she had her only son, Hubert, 14, also posted a loving message for the mother of his child. "Malaki ang naging parte mo sa aking buhay. Binigyan mo ako ng isang gwapo't matalinong anak, makulay ang 14 yrs nating pagsasama." the former Pampanga councilor wrote. "Sa lahat, mula sa aking pusot kaluluwa, maraming, maraming salamat," he added.

"Maraming salamat sa lahat ng pagkakataon na nagkasama tayo. Sa lahat ng panahon na pinasaya mo ako at ang pamilya ko. Sa pagmamahal na lagi mong pinaramdam sa akin ng buong puso. Sa bawat tawa, bungisngis, kurot at hampas sa akin na hindi ko makakalimutan. Kasama mo nawala ang napakalaking parte ng buhay ko na kailanman hindi ko na maibabalik."

Bianca Lapus, Isabel's friend who broke the news about the 41-year-old's sudden condition, also took to Facebook to grieve her passing. "Heaven just gained another Angel.... Rest in peace sis Isabel Granada I am thankful for the two decades of friendship we had," she wrote and reminisced about old times they had in showbiz. "Yung tawa mo, yun ang gusto ko tandaan ngayon kasama ng pambansang eyelashes mo. Ang importante hindi ka na nahihirapan. No more pain. I know you fought, sis. Pahinga ka na. Mahal kita."
