Chynna, Kean on Life Without A Yaya: 'Masaya, Nakakapagod Lang'The Ciprianos are keeping it real about life without a nanny, and cherishing every moment spent with family.by Rachel Perez .
Not everyone is privileged or even lucky to have help in taking care of the kids, especially because many families today live in a two-parent income household.
Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano revealed in their latest vlog, Trips with The Cips, that their two-year-old daughter Stellar has had no yaya for about four months now. It's a good thing that their work has flexible schedules and allow them to bring their daughter to work with them.
When Chynna asked Kean, "How's life without a yaya?" The latter replied, "I'm tired." But the dad of one also quickly quantified his answer that while it can be exhausting, which is merely a fact of life, Kean is also happy and grateful to be a hands-on parent and being able to spend time with Stellar.
In this episode of their vlog, the couple revealed that their plans to celebrate their anniversary didn't push through, because "God had other plans," Chynna said. She disclosed that her dad had a heart attack and is now recovering, so they decided to book a staycation at a hotel in Quezon City instead.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
Because they've had no help, their staycation was an opportunity for Chynna and Kean to catch up on things they haven't been able to do: Chynna was finally able to open a book she had been wanting to read for months, although she fell asleep while reading. "Sobrang rare yun, na makapag-siesta ako nowadays bilang nanay," she shared. "So thank you kasi na in-allow ninyo [akong mag-nap] kanina," Chynna told Kean. She also enjoyed a manicure-pedicure service booked by Kean for her, something she hasn't been able to do in the last nine months.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Kean, on the other hand, has been planning to write a song or script. He finally found time for meetings, but of course Stellar had to tag along.
"Sa pahinga naman, halos hindi naman talaga nakapahinga, okay," Kean admitted. "Medyo intense rin kasi talaga yung energy ng anak namin," he said, saying that disciplining a two-year-old sometimes tests his patience. "Pero naka-bonding ko yung anak ko," the doting dad emphasized.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Kean and Chynna are thankful for the staycation which gave them a breather, even just for a short time. "Malaking tulong siya sa kahit sinong pamilya at married couple," Chynna shared. "Okay rin talaga to really spend time with your family kahit nasaan ka man," Kean added.
He also noted how much Stellar enjoyed their staycation. "Nagkaron ng time yung anak namin to run around para mangulit at mag-explore, and nakita ko yung joy sa mukha nya," Kean shared. Her heart is full after spending time and playing with her parents.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
After what happened to her dad, Chynna ended their vlog with a message to families:
"I know it's important for us to grind, to work," she said. "[But] kailangan may time ka talaga for yourself and for your family," Chynna added. It doesn't matter how simple the bonding is, as long as you include it in your schedules.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"Life is short." the mom of one said. "It's important for you to cherish the moments with your family and your loved ones," Chynna added.
