Claudine Barretto Cries Foul at Allegation She Used Daughter Against Raymart Santiago

Last March 7, the 13-year-old daughter of Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto posted quotes on her Instagram account that was obviously an expression of disapproval of her dad's rumored romantic relationship with a real estate executive. 

SmartParenting.com.ph picked up the story and highlighted the comments of support from netizens who felt that the teen was going through a painful period. When the story was posted on our Facebook, it drew remarks of sympathy for Sabina, but it also elicited comments of suspicion that Claudine might have used Sabina's social network account to express her disapproval. 

Today, March 9, Claudine posted a lengthy post on Instagram where she denied that it was her who came up with the words her daughter posted. "To say I put the quotes my daughter made is such a low blow," she wrote on the last image in her Instagram post.

The single mom, who stated that it has been a "very painful, confusing week for my children," alluded to the possible reasons Sabina reacted the way she did. "When Raymart and I separated a few years back, I begged him to have that conversation separated parents do to explain that daddy and mommy love you and will always be there for you both but cannot be together." Claudine said it was conversation that never happened. 

Raymart also allegedly promised Claudine and the court to undergo counseling with his children "so they would feel loved and safe and secure despite the separation," the mom of two continued. But the actor hasn't fulfilled that promise as well, according to Claudine, who adds that her kids go to counseling two to three times a month. 

The actress also said that Raymart's rumored relationship isn't the first after their separation. According to Claudine, she has requested him to talk to his kids about it many times. "He consistently denies that he has a girlfriend, so he doesn't feel the need to explain," the mom of two revealed.

"My daughter is being bashed for protecting herself and her brother (10-year-old son Santino) when that is the only way she knows how [because] she cannot open or talk to her dad," Claudine stressed. "As much as I don't want to put Raymart in a bad light, our child is being bashed," she said, adding she does want to see her estranged husband to be happy. 

She also emphasized that she would "never put hatred in my children's mind and hearts" when it comes to their dad; if there is anyone who is putting Raymart in a bad light, it is himself, she adds. 

"You all can say many things about me but if there's one thing I can be proud of is that I am a damn good mom," she says.
