Colourette Cosmetics founder and CEO Nina Ellaine Dizon recently sparked conversation online after responding to a question on Instagram Stories asking whether she co‑parents with her ex‑husband.
Instead of a simple answer, Nina delivered a strong statement redefining what fatherhood truly means and why being a “dad” should never be treated as a mere title.
In her Instagram Stories, Nina said:
“Being a dad is not just a title but it's a responsibility. If a person fails to prioritize his children, provide for them, foster a safe environment, or simply put in the bare minimum to communicate and stay present in their lives then he is not a father. He's merely a sperm donor.”
She followed this up with a call for mothers to draw firm boundaries when fathers fail to show up for their children:
“It's about time moms take a stand and draw a line—when the dads aren't acting like dads then they shouldn't get dad privileges.”

“I Said What I Said”
Nina reinforced her stance in her caption, leaving no room for misinterpretation:
“Hindi dapat binibigyan ng dad privileges or co-parenting rights ang mga tatay na wala naman ambag at effort sa buhay ng mga anak nila.”
She also challenged a long-standing mindset many parents are familiar with:
“Gone are the days na we should be telling our kids ‘tatay mo pa rin yan’. WRONG. Tatay mo 'yan, so dapat magpakatatay siya.”
Nina Elaine is not only a successful beauty entrepreneur but also a hands-on mother raising her two kids. Having openly spoken about moving forward from her marriage, she draws on her lived experience to share her views and struggles with parenting.
Her statements struck a chord with many parents online, particularly mothers who feel the burden of parenting often falls unevenly. More than a personal response, Nina’s message adds to a growing conversation about accountability, boundaries, and what healthy co-parenting should look like. She pushed back against the idea that biological ties alone are enough to justify access or “dad privileges.”
