See Family Moments at Dani Barretto Wedding: Cassy and Mavy Legaspi Were There!

A wedding is always a happy occasion that highlights the things that matter the most in life: love, laughter, and of course, family. When actress Marjorie Barretto's eldest daughter Dani tied the knot with disc jockey Xavi Panlilio on April 23 at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Makati, some of the most beautiful but understated moments bring all of those elements together.

It's impossible not to see just how close the Barretto siblings are to each other. Dani chose sister Julia to be her maid of honor, and Julia played the role to the hilt. In her speech during the wedding reception, Julia began by noting just "how beautiful my sister is today" and calling the occasion a defining moment. 

She also recalled how she saw changes in her sister Dani after meeting Xavi. "[She] was a better version of herself with so much life, joy, and love. I knew from that moment on, Dani was in a better place. 

"Since she met you, all of a sudden, she opened her heart to marriage. You opened a door she didn't know she wanted to open. Thank you for bringing out the best in her, for being gentle with her. Welcome, brother, to our family," she added, addressing her new brother-in-law.

One of the evening's revelations was Dani's sister Claudia, who, accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, serenaded the newlyweds with her version of "Moon River."

Claudia may have wowed the guests with her song number, but their youngest sister Erich stole the spotlight. Aside from leading the prayer before meals, the 7-year-old also prepared a special number for Dani and Xavi. The short video clip of Erich singing a few lines from Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E" was posted by Claudia on her Instagram Stories.

These two obviously share mutual admiration for each other, and it shows in how they look at and look after each other!

Even though the bride's biological father Kier Legaspi was not in attendance, Dani's paternal cousins were part of the celebrations. On Instagram, twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, kids of Kier's older brother Zoren with wife Carmina Villaroel, posted snaps from the event with congratulatory messages for the newlyweds.

Xavi still has yet to get used to calling his new mother-in-law "Mom," but it was a touching gesture when he did so for the first time during his speech. "[Thank you] for making me feel always so welcome since day one, all the way 'til today. And I just wanna make a promise towards them as well for now. I married your daughter, Mom..." he said in the short video clip he posted on his Instagram Stories.

As for Dani, she's starting her married life in the best way possible by acknowledging, "I'm blessed with the best in-laws in the world."

While newlyweds Xavi and Dani Panlilio were the focus of this beautiful event, on the sidelights a mother's heart was overflowing with love. Marjorie threw her eldest daughter a despedida de soltera a week before the wedding, gave her away at church, and remained a powerhouse despite an undeniably emotional time.

In her speech, Marjorie assured Dani she will always remain with them. "You may be married, but I'm still your mom," she said to Dani. As for the new member of the family, she said simply, "Thank you, Xavi, and welcome."
