Dianne Medina Responds To Criticisms On Her 'Indoor Pool' For Son

Actress-host Dianne Medina faces criticisms online after showing on Instagram that she set up an inflatable pool in her living room as per her son's request.

In the post, Dianne explained that her toddler, Joaquin, wanted to swim outside, but it was too hot. So, the celebrity mom and her husband, Rodjun Cruz, set up a mini inflatable pool in their living room. It’s clear that Joaquin was thrilled with his parents' decision, as he's seen happily playing and splashing water in the video.

"At first, I was a bit hesitant [na] madudumihan and mababasa ang carpet and all pero naisip ko minsan lang bata si Joaquin [and] gusto ko ma-enjoy niya ang sala. Pwede naman patuyuin at linisin ang mga gamit," Dianne reasoned.

Netizens raised their eyebrows at the indoor pool's placement, as it appeared to be right smack in the center of the living room, just behind a sofa. Some even went as far as to accuse Dianne of spoiling her son.

One negative comment was concerned over the family's huge sofa, and Dianne responded, "Diyan niya gusto eh, hehehe go lang para masaya si Joaquin."

Another commenter argued that it was justified, as Dianne would have had to deal with a tantrum otherwise. They even subtly suggested that Dianne was spoiling her son.

But Dianne made it clear that Joaquin requested the indoor pool nicely to his parents. 

On the other hand, some parents supported Dianne, agreeing that kids are only young once, so it's not a bad idea to let them have their way with certain things sometimes.

In a separate comment, Dianne clarified that they set up the pool only for a few hours, as Joaquin eventually transferred outside when it was no longer scorching hot. She even uploaded a new video as proof.

"I'm so grateful napakabait at sweet ng anak ko! Mommy loves you so much! As for the carpet, relax! Hahah Due na rin yan for cleaning, so it's okay. Hindi masamang pagbigyan ng isang beses ang mga anak natin basta we know our limits and boundaries! Marami kasi dyan they judge basing on one posted video!" said the actress.
