Chesca Surprises Doug With A Renewal of Vows On Their 15th Year Together

It's usually cager Doug Kramer who surprises wife Chesca Garcia Kramer every year on their anniversary, but this time, it was the other way around.

For their 10th wedding anniversary, Doug and Chesca initially planned to celebrate in Boracay, but since the island is closed for rehabilitation until late October, their next options were Tagaytay and Baguio, Doug said in his Instagram post. However, both plans didn't work out either. The couple thus decided to postpone the celebration in the summer with their new home as their backdrop.

At least, that's what they thought, individually.

"My wife had other plans," Doug wrote on Instagram. "I thought I was coordinating a mini surprise for her today and give a ring to symbolize our 10th [year] while having dinner with the family [and] with a band playing," he wrote on Instagram.

On October 9, at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Chesca pulled off the biggest surprise Doug could ever imagine: a gathering of their family and friends for their renewal of vows. She had planned everything to celebrate their 10 years of marriage, 15 years of togetherness, and three beautiful kids— daughters Kendra and Scarlett, and son Gavin.

Doug thought the grand gift he had planned for Chesca was unraveling perfectly: he started with petals scattered in the house leading to the kids' room, and to the box that contained Chesca's dress.

"You're so dressed up! It's like we're getting married again!" was Doug's initial reaction upon seeing his wife. Of course, their kids were also dressed to impress as flower girls and ring bearer.

Just before entering the venue, Chesca said to Doug, "You always surprise me. But this time around, It's my surprise for you." He couldn't believe what Chesca prepared for him. "My eyes were so heavily perspiring!" Doug said.

To pull this off, Chesca had help from events coordinator Teena Barretto. The venue was dressed up by Jo Claravall, and Pat Dy Photography made sure it was documented. Of course, it wouldn't have been a success either if not for their kids' ability to keep everything a secret. Good job, kiddos!
