See How 7 Celeb Moms Showed Support for World Breastfeeding Week

Every first week of August is World Breastfeeding Week where we celebrate breastfeeding and make more people aware of its benefits. According to the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, at least 823 000 child deaths and 20,000 maternal deaths could be prevented by scaling up breastfeeding.

Many celeb moms are doing their share by posting their breastfeeding photos. May they inspire you!

Mariel Padilla

Coinciding with her birthday month, Mariel posted this photo of daughter Isabella. She was "less than a month old latching for an hour, two hours, cluster feedings, colicky and all but you know what? I survived; battled my milk supply issues. I wouldn't have it any other way," the new mom wrote, happily adding her baby is still exclusively drinking mom's milk. Mariel encouraged all moms to breastfeed: "You won't regret it!"

Marian Rivera

The celebrity breastfeeding advocate posted a photo of a certification of appreciation from the UP College of Medicine-Philippine General Hospital (PGH) where she shared her breastfeeding journey. "Isang making karangalan na maimbitahan upang ibahagi ko ang aking karanasan sa breastfeeding. Nawa'y nakapagbigay ako ng inspirasyon sa mga bagong nanay at sa mga magiging ina pa lamang," Marian wrote. 

Delamar Arias

The MotherShow co-host posted a photo of her nursing her daughter Harper Adeline. "August is breastfeeding month. Happy latching mommas and babies!" Delamar wrote as a caption. Delamar insisted on a gentle c-section when she delivered son Parker and her daugther so she could ease into breastfeeding as soon as possible.  

DJ RikifLo

Delamar's co-host, DJ Rikiflo (real name Erika Flores-Reyes), also posted a photo of her breastfeeding her daughter Calix. She posted it last Friday, August 5, to plug an episode of their radio show. 

Nadine Samonte-Chua

This celebrity mom attended the "Hakab Na 2017," a global event where nursing moms breastfeed their babies simultaneously, in Araneta Coliseum. "I'm proud sa lahat ng mga nanay na nagsaskripisyo talaga para sa mga anak nila mahirap magpadede kaya, pero kinakaya natin yun para sa mga anak natin. Basta hanggat kaya, sige lang," Nadine wrote on Instagram. Her daugther, Heather Sloane, is turning one this month and still purely breastfed. "Mahirap pero fulfilling para sa amin dalawa and hanggat kaya ko patagalin why not db?" she added and also gave a thank-you shoutout to hee supportive husband. 

Diana Zubiri-Smith

Mom of two Diana Zubiri was also spotted at the Hakab Na 2017 event manning her own nursing line, Loving Diana, a brand that specializes in stylish breastfeeding-friendly tops. It's unclear if she brought her daughter, Aliyah Rose. And if you're wondering why her name tag says Joy, Diana's real name is Rosemarie Joy Garcia-Smith. 

Princess Velasco

While the ASAP singer's breastfeeding photo was blurred and in black in white, her caption expresses her support for all nursing moms. "Lampas two years na si Kobe pero naglalatch pa din sakin. Lalo na ngayon maysakit siya, kahit wala na ako masyadong gatas, magdamag pa din siya nakalatch. Tawag doon ay 'comfort nursing.'" Princess wrote in the caption.
