Hospitals in the Philippines are often overcrowded, with a bed-to-population ratio of 1:1000, far below the World Health Organization's standard of 3:1000. This makes accessing healthcare, including family planning services, a challenge for many.

According to the National Demographic Health Survey (NDHS) of 2022, 49 percent of women of reproductive age in the Philippines want no more children, data that underscores the urgent need for accessible modern family planning solutions.

Enter the SODEX Mobile Clinic, a mobile ambulatory clinic in the country with the goal to make family planning services accessible to Filipinos. This clinic will travel around Luzon, aiming to serve up to 3,000 beneficiaries who need permanent methods of contraception and another 3,570 who will avail of temporary methods. What Free Contraception and Familty Services Are Offered?

The SODEX Mobile Clinic is a one-stop-shop for all your family planning needs. Whether you want to space out your pregnancies or have decided that your family is complete, this clinic has got you covered.

But it's not just about the procedures. Every client will first undergo screening and counseling to assess their mental and physical fitness. This ensures that they freely choose their preferred method of contraception.

After a thorough consultation, you can receive free family planning commodities like pills, condoms, injectables, and IUDs. For those who are certain they don't want more children, the clinic offers bilateral tubal ligation or non-scalpel vasectomy using local anesthesia, all free of charge.

And the support doesn't end there. "The clients will be endorsed to our partner healthcare providers in the LGUs for follow-up. Our outreach team will maintain open communication with the midwives and volunteers in case post-procedure concerns arise," shared Loida Almendares, Director of Programs of DKT Philippines Foundation.
