After being exposed to COVID-19, Joross Gamboa and his wife Kathy Kimberly Saga made the responsible move to immediately undergo quarantine even if it means welcoming the New Year away from their kids.
On New Year's Eve, the actor shared on Instagram a screengrab from their video call with kids, Jace Kyler and Jon Kody. "First time namin silang 'di nakasama salubong ng New Year pa! Actually na-expose kasi kami sa may COVID kaya agad-agad kaming nag-quarantine sa bahay for 5 days bago pa RT-PCR (COVID-19 test)," Joross explained.
The kids had to spend the New Year's with Joross' parents while the couple await their COVID-19 test results. Although it's disheartening to celebrate such an occasion away from their kids, Joross knew that it was the best thing to do given the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
"Mas pinili kasi namin maging responsible at pinagpalit ang panandaliang kaligayahan para sa kapakanan ng ibang tao. Wala naman kami COVID-19 pero naninigurado kami," Joross wrote in his caption.
He reminded his followers to shy away from complacency as the threat of COVID-19 remains. Joross shared even his sibling and his friends caught the virus. They believe they got it during a visit at Poblacion, Makati, which has been in the news recently due to a quarantine violator who later on tested positive for COVID-19.
Reunited with kids
On January 3, 2022, Joross shared the good news that he and his wife tested negative for COVID-19. After a week of waiting, they are finally reunited with their kids.
"Nagkasama na kami ulit after a week, negative result namin mag-asawa talagang inantay namin lumabas result bago umalis ng bahay," Joross happily shared. Describing his excitement to see his kids again he adds, "ako sa sobrang excited makasama mga bata nag-aantay ako sa loob ng sasakyan para paglabas ng result andar na agad."
Joross and his wife made the right call to immediately follow the protocols when exposed to a case of COVID-19 — isolate and undergo testing. It is important for parents to make the right choices for the sake of the family, especially for times like these when the country is still facing a health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
