JUST IN: Ellen Adarna Has Given Birth, Lawyer ConfirmsThe actress' lawyer said Ellen has not been able to attend court hearings on the child abuse lawsuit against her because she has just welcomed a baby.by Rachel Perez .
For months, controversial couple Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz have evaded the press since it was first reported in November 2017 that they will soon be parents.
Finally, Ellen's lawyer, Atty. Rebo Saguisag, today confirmed that Ellen has given birth on June 27. He didn't disclose additional details about the actress' delivery, however.
A week after Ellen gave birth, her partner actor John Lloyd was spotted at a Cebu mall, shopping for baby gear. Netizens shared on social media that he bought one car seat for a newborn baby boy and a Chicco stroller. Ellen reportedly gave birth at Chong Hua Hospital.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
Ellen's pregnancy and childbirth is the primary reason why the actress has been missing the court proceedings from the child abuse complaint filed against her in May.
"Actually, after the [last] hearing, sinabi namin, nanganak na siya, two days after," Atty. Saguisag told reporters outside the Pasig City Regional Trial Court, as per entertainment reporter MJ Marfori's Instagram Stories.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Atty. Saguisag continued: "Sinasabi nila, 'delay.' Maybe 'delay,' for her to be able to have a safe delivery. And in due time... Mahirap i-biyahe, e. It's a matter of days pa lang, e."
In May 2018, the family of Eleila Santos, the 17-year-old tagged by Ellen as paparazzi, filed a case against her for child abuse, cybercrime, and libel at the office of the city prosecutor of the Pasig City Hall. Eleila's mother, Myra Abo Santos, proceeded with filing the case when Ellen ignored her ultimatum for a public apology.
The preliminary investigation was initially scheduled on June 4, four days after Ellen's father, Alan Adarna, passed away due to cardiac arrest.
It was then rescheduled on June 11, and while Ellen was still a no-show on that day, her partner John Lloyd attended the hearing. It was again re-scheduled to June 25, two days before Adarna gave birth.
